Turkey Woof Balls

Foodie Thursday: Turkey Woof Balls

May 21, 2015

Another recipe from one of my favorite blogs Sweet Paul. My mouth is watering and I can't wait for Winnie (and me!) to try this gourmet treat. The recipe is really easy. Directly from Sweet Paul blog:

Makes 10-20 (All depends on how big you make them)

- 1 pound ground turkey - 3/4 cup cooked brown rice - 3/4 cup cooked broccoli, chopped - 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped oregano - butter

  1. Mix together all the ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Roll into large meatballs, there should be enough for between 10-20. All depends on the size of your dog.
  3. Fry them in a pan with butter on medium heat until done.

TIP: Serve with cooked rice, pasta or mashed potatoes.

Bon appetit!

Doggie Pancakes

Foodie Thursday: Doggie Pancakes

October 2, 2014

Another sweet recipe from Sweet Paul's Blog! If you love pancakes as much as I do, I am sure your dog will love them too. I will try this delicious recipe for tomorrow's breakfast and my dog Winnie will get crazy with it.

Makes about 15 - 1 cup buckwheat flour - 4 tablespoons corn flour - 1 teaspoon baking powder - 1 cup buttermilk - 4 tablespoons milk - 1 large egg

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until smooth.
  2. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat a small amount of butter (to coat) and cook each pancake about 1 minute on each side.
  4. (For bone-shaped pancakes, just pour the batter into a bone-shaped cookie cutter.)
  5. Cool and serve. Can be frozen.

If you want to try these pancakes, just add 4 tablespoons of sugar to the mix. Enjoy!

Foodie Thursday: Treats and Rescue

September 18, 2014

Those days when your dog watches you pull out a package from the pantry and starts jumping and rolling around… he knows! There are some delicious treats inside, and you know that package is more than just a bag of treats! Rosie's Barkery had the wonderful idea to print a picture and information of rescues that customers nationwide will read. They pick 3 rescues every quarter to spotlight on the back of the bags.

Treats that make dogs happy and help you promote your organization! That is a great treat!"Through The Rescue Ally Project, we’re promoting rescues on our treats bags, online and on all of our marketing materials as well as donating 10% of the proceeds to them. It’s our way of supporting the rescue troops who fight the good fight with a victory in every bite!"

If you want to find out more about The Rescue Ally Project, watch this video.

The treats are hypoallergenic, gluten-free and made in the USA. You can find them in flavors like peanut butter, cheddar cheese and sweet potato pie.

Peanut Snack Sandwiches

Foodie Thursday: Peanut Snack Sandwiches

August 21, 2014

Yesterday I was reading at one of my favorite blogs, Sweet Paul, and looking at all the delicious recipes that make my mouth water, I found a gourmet treat that I will cook for my dog Winnie. I am sure she will love this and your dog too! This is the recipe directly from Sweet Paul's blog:

Makes about 20 treats - 2 tablespoons canola oil - 1⁄2 cup peanut butter (all-natural or organic) - 1 cup water - 1 1⁄2 cups whole wheat flour - 1 1⁄2 cups white flour - peanut butter, for serving

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl combine canola oil, peanut butter and water.
  3. Add both types of flour, and work the dough together.
  4. Wrap in plastic and leave it for around 30 minutes.
  5. Knead dough into a firm ball and roll to 1⁄4 inch thickness.
  6. Use a small glass or cookie cutter and cut out small circles.
  7. Place on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.
  8. Sprinkle with peanuts, and press them lightly into mixture.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
  10. Cool on a wire rack.
  11. Store in a jar with a tight lid.
  12. When your dog has been good, sandwich a little peanut butter between two cookies and serve.

Sounds delicious! I think I am going to try one too. If you want to get more recipes for your dog, visit Sweet Paul's blog, you will love it!
