It is National Dog Day! What can be better than to wake up in the morning and watch your cheerful dog waiting for you to play? Your best friend, bright-eyed and huggable doggie?
What are your plans to celebrate with your dog? As always, many people go to shelters and donate food or time to volunteer in honor of our four-legged friends. Can this be a good day to adopt another dog?

It's party time when I go to the park and my dog, and I meet other dogs. I pet them and say something beautiful to the owner, but the dogs? They love to smell each other's butts!
They go round and round, like a ceremony. What are dogs thinking? Do they say to each other "nice to meet you"? Maybe, but there is a scientific explanation for us, humans, to understand why they joyfully do that.
I found a fun and exciting video from the American Chemistry Society that easily explains this: "We are getting to the bottom of one of the biggest quandaries in science: Why dogs sniff each other's butts. Turns out this behavior is just one of many interesting forms of chemical communication in the animal kingdom. Dogs use a special feature called the Jacobsen's Organ to get chemical signals from their nose sent directly to their brain. "

This is a post from 2016, but today is the perfect day to post it again... happy dog father's day!
Happy father's day to all the guys out there who love their furry kids! You know how special it is to have a dog who is your companion, your friend, your kid and so much more. Celebrate this day and have fun.
Yesterday I went to the park with my dog Winnie and we made new friends, two doggies, and their dad. He told me that he works all day and he takes every free time he has to enjoy his dogs. It was so nice to see how much he loves them. They were running, playing and having a blast... These are some pictures of those magic moments.

I am not sure which of the two Super Bowl games is my favorite, The Super Bowl LIII or the Puppy Bowl XV... The Puppy Bowl of course! Not only because it is the cutest event but because Animal Planet works with animal shelters and rescue organizations across the US to help animals find a loving forever home. They will also promote veteran animals through the "Puppy Bowl Hall of Fame."
And there's more! Cute puppies will share the event with some fantastic animals like Kangaroos who will be the cheerleaders jumping and cheering the teams, a Capybara and Porcupines will act as mascots, and the game would not be complete without the referee… a Sloth! Can you picture those eyes staring at you like the end of the world is coming if you don't share your lunch with your dog? You look down and there he is… "please, just a piece!". I must confess that some times my mom and I can't resist and Winnie finally gets a piece or two of our delicious meal.
