This is Rocky. He is a Chihuahua mix and nothing can stop him from having fun at the park. The day I shot these pictures the weather was so cold! and Rocky? Running and playing as usual. A good excuse to wear a sweater that makes him look really handsome. He is so brave, he runs with only 3 legs most of the time and as a senior dog, I am sure he has many adventures that I would love to hear… Enjoy the pictures!
A happy day with Rocky
Nicky the Rock Star
I went to the beach yesterday with my neighbor and friend Laura and her dog Nicky to take some pictures. Nicky is a Rock Star! I love his hair and color. Nothing can stop him to chase that ball. He is a rescue dog and he is so sweet.
When I first met him, he was cautious about me, but after some days, he started running to greet me with a smile and jumping all around me. He is a happy dog! Enjoy the pictures and if you want to see more, check our Facebook album here.

Book Review: “Captured. . . The Look of the Dog”
Life is made up of stories and experiences. Many times simple and joyful, like going to the dog park and listen how other proud pet parents tell stories about their adorable dogs. After that, imagine going back home in a sunny morning and sitting at your favorite spot to drink coffee or tea with your dog at your side to read a good book, something to fuel your spirit, like "Captured… The Look of the Dog".
I received the manuscript of this awesome book. It has many stories, poems and quizzes that will melt your heart, and all of them accompanied by wonderful photography. Sisters Gloria Yarina and Fern Goodman are the authors of this book. They are both dog lovers, compassionate and interested in helping animals. That is what the book is about, stories about love and compassion mixed with humor and fun. The perfect read for a dog lover!
Look into the eyes of an animal and you will see, hear and feel a whole other language. ~F. Goodman~
Here are some excerpts from the book: Joy, Oh Boy Boy, oh boy, oh boy I bet you think I’m full of joy But I can assure you it is a lie In truth, I’m trying to cough up a fly
Older Dog, She Has My Heart She calmly greets me with a smile and tail a waggin.’ She mimics my moves. If I bend down, she does too. She eats and savors her food instead of in a greedy gobble. She unconditionally trusts all of her needs will be met. She snuggles just right, molds her body to mine. She understands without being given a single command. She never attempts to run out of an open door. She knows where and how to communicate her potty time.
She contentedly meanders in the backyard as I read. She follows me inside when I get up. She beds down when I am napping. She still learns new things, anxious to please. She coos lovable purring sounds when I pet her. She takes treats delicately, conscious of my fingers. She walks on a leash in stride; we are two ladies on the block. She is my constant harmonious companion. She looks up to assure me, yes, we have that special bond. She would do anything for me and I for her…she has my heart.

Wednesdays with Winnie: Playing with the Clutter
Some months ago I was organizing my home office and trashing the clutter. For Winnie was like a game. I was throwing her paper balls and she was better than a major league center fielder! We still play that game. Then she starts opening the paper ball with her paws and mouth and she breaks it in pieces. She doesn't need expensive toys! Only me and the paper to play. If we humans could always enjoy the simple things as much as our dogs… that's what we try every day.
Then she just lays down on top of the papers and stays there for a long time to take a nap. That's what my dog Camila used to do too. The pictures below are from Camila.
Does your dog like to play with paper balls? What other game you enjoy together that is not a toy from the pet store? Leave a comment! We would love to hear about it.
