Dog Paws. Leaving an imprint.
I love my dog paws, even when she comes running into the house after a rainy day and she leaves a muddy imprint all over the floor. Other times, when we go to the beach, she leaves an imprint on the sand as a proof that we had an awesome day running and chasing pelicans and doves!
And because I love her paws, I know I need to take care of them. Her paws are a cushion to protect her bones and joints and give insulation when the weather is extreme.
I found this useful article: "Top Ten Paw Care Tips for Dogs" at the ASPCA website. Some of the tips are:

Foodie Thursday: Treats and Rescue
Those days when your dog watches you pull out a package from the pantry and starts jumping and rolling around… he knows! There are some delicious treats inside, and you know that package is more than just a bag of treats! Rosie's Barkery had the wonderful idea to print a picture and information of rescues that customers nationwide will read. They pick 3 rescues every quarter to spotlight on the back of the bags.
Treats that make dogs happy and help you promote your organization! That is a great treat!"Through The Rescue Ally Project, we’re promoting rescues on our treats bags, online and on all of our marketing materials as well as donating 10% of the proceeds to them. It’s our way of supporting the rescue troops who fight the good fight with a victory in every bite!"

The treats are hypoallergenic, gluten-free and made in the USA. You can find them in flavors like peanut butter, cheddar cheese and sweet potato pie.
Wednesdays with Winnie: It looks like a summer day!
In days like this, when the weather is so hot, Winnie loves a good nap in the shadow with a fan near her body. It seems that the summer is not over! But It is a perfect day for a refreshing bath outside.

Wednesdays with Winnie: The Toys
Big toys, small toys, squeaky toys, balls, and many more… no matter how old they are (the older the better!) Winnie loves all of them. She has her favorites but some times she changes between the donkey, the fox, the bee, the ball... she always has a toy near by.
I have to confess that two of them were mine (the dog and the bunny in the picture above) but when she discovered them on the bookshelf, she looked at me with those exciting eyes, begging me to get her the new fluffy friends… how could I say no?
The pictures above are from different days, she really treasures the squeaky and fluffy animals and the ball, but her favorite, favorite ever, is the donkey! Look at this video.
What are your dog's favorite toys? I found an article from the Humane Society with some great recommendations on what type of toys are better for your dog, They classify them in Active Toys, Distraction Toys and Comfort Toys. Read more about this at this link.
Getting your dog a toy is also an opportunity for you to interact with your dog and create a stronger bond and memories that you will always keep as a treasure! Leave a comment and tell us what are your favorite games?
Designing for a Good Cause: Citizens for a Breed Neutral. Reynoldsburg
Pit bull type dogs are good dogs. There are many misconceptions about the danger of having a dog like this at home. Some times this go to an extreme in some cities where they prohibit to own a pit bull. Pit bulls for Reynoldsburg is a group in Ohio that is fighting against Pit bull ban. They requested my help as a volunteer through the organization Creative Paw to design a logo to reflect their goals and to have an identity as a group.
Based on the information I received, I created a logo that represents any breed and to meet their goal to have a breed neutral law. The dogs in the logo stand out with a white silhouette against bright colors and the heart in the middle represents the Love and Compassion all breeds deserve.
"The goal of Pit Bulls for Reynoldsburg is to lobby City Council for a breed neutral law, educate people about the shortcomings of Breed Specific Legislation (BSL), and promote better alternatives."
The group needed a second logo/Illustration for a T-Shirt for citizens of Reynoldsburg (and other cities in the future) to wear as a walking billboard and create awareness of how Bad Laws Hurt Good Dogs. This is the logo/Illustration for the campaign.
I initially created different options for the logo and they really liked them! The group kept all options to print on T-Shirts too and they opened an online store "in an effort to remove the ban in Reynoldsburg by purchasing merchandise from a new site called Freedom of Dog. Proceeds will go to legal fees to fight the ban in court as well as educational materials to promote awareness to local residents."
These are the different options for T-shirts and merchandise. If you want to help, you can purchase the products at this link.
It was a pleasure to design the logo and images for a good cause! Please support this group by sharing this post and leave a comment if Pit bulls face the same challenges in your city. If you want to share ideas with this group, please visit their Facebook page.
