This is Rocky. He is a Chihuahua mix and nothing can stop him from having fun at the park. The day I shot these pictures the weather was so cold! and Rocky? Running and playing as usual. A good excuse to wear a sweater that makes him look really handsome. He is so brave, he runs with only 3 legs most of the time and as a senior dog, I am sure he has many adventures that I would love to hear… Enjoy the pictures!
National Adopt a Senior Dog Month
Senior dogs are a treasure. Their eyes have a special light that comes with age, a mysterious and sweet sparkle that hypnotize their owner. When I look at Winnie’s face, I see more than white hair, I can see accumulated love that reflects years of experiences, peace, calm and infinite love. She can’t run as much as she used to, but she will never stop spreading a scent of happiness wherever she goes!
We rescued her when she was 2 years old, we didn’t have the experience of a senior dog before and now I understand what a gift they are! If you are considering to adopt a pet, a senior dog can be a blessing. If you don’t have an active lifestyle, if you enjoy reading a book under a tree’s shadow or by the fireplace, a senior dog will be perfect to join your family! Senior dogs still need to be active, but you and your vet can decide the amount of exercise that is good for your dog.
I can tell you that a senior dog is not a sad dog, it is the opposite! You can still play games and have fun, they always need fun. Instead of throwing far away the ball for Winnie, I do it right at her place, I don’t make her run, but we have so much fun.

Multiply one year of love by 7! and there you have it, one year of a dog's life equals 7 years of our own life, maybe that is the reason dogs multiply love? I am sure it is : )

Finding my Voice and my Pack
Hello pet lovers! How is your week going so far? Mine is great! Today after some hectic days I am more focused and doing what I need to do. Some times it is difficult to concentrate on all the activities you have listed in a day. You want spread the word about your business and how you can help others succeed too, but there is an unknown number of ways to do it… Where to start? It is like chasing squirrels! and end going no where.
On days like that, I take a moment to breath and go for a walk with my dog to smell the flowers, that really makes my day to slow down and nothing is better than sitting at the park for a brainstorm with your dog. Yes, I ask Winnie what does she think about an idea and she barks or tilt her head on approval and excitement but some times she just says “this is not what you should be doing, woof!”.
Do you feel this way some times? Like you need a road map that is closer to who you are and what you want? This is the reason for this post. I want to share with you an awesome bootcamp that I will attend with a great person, April Bowles. I watched many of her videos and read her blog, which is fantastic and after I learned about this course, I can’t wait to start diginng!
Some of the things that I want to get from this course, is to find my own voice and my pack. I worked for many years in the corporate world as a designer and art director and the language and corporate environment is so unique and different from my “pet project” Woof Love, that I need to open up find my own voice, my own language, the one that comes to me naturally.
This course will also help me to get more followers, but not just for the sake of collecting “Likes” on Facebook or followers on Twitter, but to find My Pack, people who is really passionate about pets and animals.
Two things that I know getting more followers will help me with are:
1. Finding more people who need my help with the design of an identity that reflects their values and excitement about their business or organization.
2. To spread the word about good causes and adoption. I love to volunteer with small groups and create designs that make people to fall in love with their mission.
Isn’t it great? I can’t wait to meet other people in this course. It is always wonderful to have a pack of people like you who want to grow their business. If this sounds exciting to you, take this course. I am sure it is going to be great!

Our Wonderful Doggie Day Care
We've been out-of-town for 12 days, and that is not much time, but when you are far away from your dog… that is an eternity! I don't now how could I do that without knowing Maylen and her doggie day care and boarding (paradise) place.
I was lucky that I was referred to her in Baja, México. When you travel, it is not easy to leave your baby, but I know my dog is having a great time at Baja Pet Care. Winnie is shy and introverted (we rescued her from abusive people) and is not too social with people or other dogs.
Today Maylen sent me a picture of Winnie at the day care surrounded by new friends! It was the best gift I received, looking at Winnie's picture and knowing she was so relaxed and happy.
If you travel to Baja (across the border from San Diego in Rosarito) and you want to have your dog closer, call Baja Pet Care. It is a beautiful place with a huge garden and many places to explore. Maylen and her beautiful daughter will take care of your a dog as if it was their own.
Visit their website here to see more pictures. The day care is awesome! You can have peace of mind knowing that your dog is in great hands.
Tomorrow we will finally pick up Winnie. I can't wait to see her!
Pit bulls at the Tomato Festival
On August 15th Pit bulls for Reynoldsburg participated at the Tomato Festival in Ohio. I wish I was able to be there! The group is creating a change in people's beliefs that Pit bulls are a dangerous breed. They are making a tremendous effort to educate people and to change the law, the ban for pit bulls in the city of Reynoldsburg.
It was a pleasure to design a banner for the event. They had a dog safety education training for kids, dog treats, human treats and a grooming raffle. The people also had fun trying to identify pit bull type dogs in a quiz.
Please visit Pit bulls for Reynoldsburg Facebook page and be supportive of this group. If you live in a city that has laws against pit bulls, contact the group, they can help with information and all the experience on how they help these dogs.
